My mum knows I love to use in the kitchen as many products from our own garden. A few days ago she reminded me that we have hazelnuts growing next to the chicken run. I knew it, but somehoe I thought they would have been different then those you buy. I thought I could try anyway and a couple of minutes later I had a whole basketful of hazelnuts.
I tried making hazelnut spread, using 100% hazelnuts, and you know what? It takes the time for crack them open and then to blend them, but it’s totally worth it. Next time I’ll add a tiny bit of salt, that’s all.
