At 6.30 am this morning I woke up, jumped up (our mattress is laying on the floor) and said out loud “I am the luckiest girl in the world, I forgot to set the alarm and I woke up at the exact hour I have to wake up!”. Roberto woke up as well, and said “what are you talking about?” I said “I have to go to work”. Only while saying this last sentence I realized: it’s Saturday, and I can go back to bed. This was the beginning of a great day.

When I woke up for the second time, the sun was shining and there was no cloud to be seen; a miracle, considering that the last few weeks the weather has been awful.

We asked a friend to lend us his bike and went for a long ride away from Leiden. Along with beautiful places, we saw some mills and cows, goats and horses; I missed seeing some real animals, and it was great to hear the rooster sing, again.

When we came back to Leiden we walked through the market, as always. Leiden is a beautiful city, even more when the weather is nice and you hear the sounds of the market.
